Isaiah 12:3 (NIV) says, "With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation."
The wells of salvation. What a beautiful image this creates. From these wells, we can find healing, grace, wisdom, and peace. All we need is found in God, so with joy, we can approach Him and ask for what we need for the day ahead, knowing with complete confidence that God loves us and gives to us freely. As parents, what a relief it is to know we are provided for.
This is one of the aspects of Christian meditation that is so powerful. Secular meditation tells us to clear our minds and that all we need is within us. But biblical meditation reminds us to fill our minds with scriptures, to carry encouragement for the day ahead, and that actually all we need can be found in God. What a relief that is for us parents—we do not need to have it all figured out because, with joy, we can draw water from the wells of salvation! A well that never runs dry!
Reflect on the image of the wells of salvation as a never-ending source of all that you need. When you draw from these wells, you receive not just physical needs but spiritual nourishment—healing, grace, wisdom, and peace. Reflect on the joy that comes from knowing you are fully provided for by God. This joy is not dependent on circumstances but on the assurance of God’s unending love and provision.
Start each day with a prayer, asking God to provide what you need for the day ahead. Approach Him with joy, knowing He is eager to fill you with His grace and wisdom. Incorporate daily scripture meditation into your routine. Let God’s Word fill your mind and heart, guiding you through the challenges and joys of parenting. Share the concept of the wells of salvation with your children. Teach them to turn to God for their needs, fostering a habit of dependence on Him rather than on their own strength.
As parents, the daily demands can often feel overwhelming. But Isaiah 12:3 offers a profound relief: we do not have to have it all figured out. Instead, we can joyfully draw from the wells of salvation, knowing that God’s provision never runs dry. This assurance allows us to parent with a sense of peace and confidence, knowing that we are supported by God’s limitless resources. Embrace this beautiful promise from Isaiah 12:3 and let it transform the way you approach each day, trusting in God’s unfailing love and provision for you and your family.
